06 Apr Springtime wedding
Well, the searing heat of February is still on, but the tell-tale signs of autumn approaching is already visible in the trees and the vineyards around our town. Which just means one thing – if you are planning to get married in spring in the southern hemisphere, there’s only about six months to go. Better hurry up, girl!
We partnered with a number of our favourite service providers to create a few inspirational ideas we hope will help you along to a joyous spring wedding!
To give a fresh and exuberant feel to the setting, we chose turquoise blue and sunny yellow, then threw in purply pinks and lilacs for a colour palette which simply bursts with energy. Jukie D used the same bright colours and floral motifs to create the fun and festive non-traditional wedding cake. The yellow chevron stripes on the cake cleverly repeats the design on the table cloth. To prevent the scheme from becoming overpowering, we used a pastel echo of the same palette in the decorative strings of flowers and butterflies and the table covers.
Further building upon the playful theme, popsicles, cookies and drinks were decorated with multi-coloured sprinkles and hundreds-and-thousands, and presented on brightly patterned crockery.
In keeping with the fresh and earthy style of the setting, our gorgeous bride featured a simple hairstyle adorned with flowers. The flower girls were dressed in ethereal, pastel-coloured tulle to look like little sprites straight from the woods.
