Vintage high tea

Vintage high tea

Rod le Roux is used to organising events for other people. So it was quite a change of scenery for him to walk into a room where an entire event was already planned and executed – and all for his benefit. Rod, a manager at a KFM 94.5 radio station, was getting married and his co-workers decided to surprise him with a groom’s party hosted at their Cape Town offices.

For the occasion, Creation Events was asked to style a vintage high tea with minimal, uncluttered decor.  In keeping with the theme, we combined a variety of vintage crockery and cutlery items: white porcelain plates, a black bowl, a gorgeous cut glass cake stand, silver platter and crystal candlesticks. These were displayed on glossy black and white tables, covered with elegant silver gray linen table cloths. As a final touch we added black and white striped ribbons. We kept the flowers simple, using some greenery, fresh jasmine blooms and proteas to retain a masculine feel.
