Whilst there is no doubt that a wedding is one of the most significant occasions you’ll ever celebrate, the arrival of a baby is of course no less momentous. We reckon that deserves a special feast!
Our team at Creation Events decided to showcase two baby shower concepts – one for a boy, one for a girl, to inspire moms-to-be (or her friends and relatives). Both are thoroughly contemporary. We used clean and simple lines; combined very modern elements with retro items, and mixed in unexpected hues to create fresh, new colour palettes.
To lift the event out of the ordinary, we also focused on details such as creating customised printed invitations, menus and place settings. Stationery is often overlooked at smaller gatherings, yet it makes a great impact on your table decor.
When planning your baby shower, keep your eyes peeled for interesting items that may inspire a theme. The concepts for both settings shown here, were kick-started by two ceramic ornaments.
A bright pink flamingo became the core around which we developed the girly baby shower:
A white mum-and-baby hippopatamus set the boy theme in motion. White, various shades of blue and aquamarine were mixed together in the colour scheme:
