12 May Real Wedding: Libby & Bren – The Dairy Shed, Durbanville
This Austrailian-meets-South-African celebration was one for the books!
Libby and Bren are a funky and dynamic couple who wanted a celebration that focused on the coming together of family and friends. They kicked off their week-long festivities with 40 of their Australian friends joining them in the beautiful Camps Bay. During this week they showed off our beautiful city with various excursions, providing multiple occasions for the local and international friends to be introduced. The highlight for everyone was, however, definitely the main wedding day.
Their wedding day was a combination of rustic, outdoor, nature and elegance (and they got it just right). We achieved the rustic/outdoor feel of this wedding with mismatched bridesmaid/groomsmen, long wooden tables, wood, organic fynbos arrangements, copper flatware and strings of twinkle lights. Together with Libby’s parents, we had so much fun in making Libby and Bren’s day special. What a fun party we all had!
One of my favourite elements to this wedding was the native vegetation from both countries, we included Protea’s to represent South Africa and Banksia’s to represent Australia. I’m still totally in love with Libby’s bridal bouquet. Pardiso flowers included the most beautiful air plant and a few succulents which Libby’s mom took back home to Johannesburg to nurture in her garden.
A big thank you to the wonderful team I had assisting in making this wedding such a success.
