MEET THERESA

Congratulations on your engagement! I’m Theresa, the founder and creative director of Creation Events. I personally oversee every wedding we take on, combining my flair for design and extensive experience of the events industry to produce stylish celebrations that are tailor-made for YOU!

Prior to wedding and event planning, I worked in the oil and gas industry in London. This allowed me to travel throughout Europe, and to be inspired by the many cultures and people I met along the way – something I still love about my job! In 2004, I came home to South Africa and started my career in events, working under one of the local industry’s biggest names. Over three years, I progressed to senior coordinator, planning and assisting with more than 100 weddings, before deciding to concentrate on the more specialised field of décor. During this time, I worked on multiple high profile events that required intricate décor construction, including large corporate functions like the Nederburg Auction and the J&B Met.

After a short break to focus on my new role as a mom, starting my own boutique planning service seemed like the next, most natural step, and I launched Creation Events. Since then, hundreds of brides and grooms have placed their trust in me to turn their wedding dreams into reality, and I’m fortunate that many have become dear friends! For each event, I recruit from my network of talented suppliers, and together we have created some of the most beautiful, memorable celebrations – each customised to my clients’ tastes and budget.
