In my family, I am the eldest of 3 children and this is my little sister’s wedding!

I may be a bit bias (obviously), however, Zuria is one of the most beautiful brides I ever had the pleasure working with. From the moment she announced her engagement to me I was unable to contain my excitement. She blew me away, even more, when she asked me to be her bridesmaids and more importantly her wedding planner. Of course, I couldn’t wait to jump in and help her plan!

After seeing just 3 venues Zuria and Jaco fell in love with the beauty of Rockhaven. Honestly, who can blame them? The modern architecture, beautiful boathouse and homely hospitality of the owners made it the perfect fit. This is also the reasons why this beautiful Elgin venue is one of my favorites to work at.

Family is very important to both Zuria and Jaco. They really wanted a celebration that was focused on bringing the two families together while also staying true to who they are as a couple. They also wanted to incorporate elements from home. It was for this reason that we selected all their wines from areas that had significant meaning to the family…Swartland Cellars (our home town), Montague (a area where our dad owns a small piece of land and were we have spent many great weekends together) and Darling (as this was the place that brought us as close as possible to Yzerfontein, our home away from home).

We are also lucky enough to have a huge (really it is big) Penny Gum tree in our yard. All the Penny Gum you see in the images below came from this one tree. Our dad and brother supplied us with bucket and buckets on demand.
