Kate and Charles-Eric planned their South African Wedding all the way from Australia. They chose the beautiful Elgin Valley as their destination. Elgin is a small farming community close to the town of Grabouw which is surrounded by the most beautiful apple and pear farms the Cape has to offer. As Kate (originally from the north of South Africa) and Charles-Eric (originally from France) have friends all over the world and as guests had to travel from as far as Hong Kong, United Kingdom, United States, Dubai and France, South Africa seem like the ideal central location to tie the knot.

Kate chose a colour pallet inspired by the vibrant riches of berries and red apples, which we complimented with a very subtle touch of navy. The look was given a opulent feeling by the addition of pops of gold and lots of twinkly lights. As the couple got married in the middle of the South African summer, we incorporated fresh greens, lighter pink and even white blooms to give the color pallet a fresh vibrant feeling.

To celebrate Charles-Eric’s French heritage, we put a lot of emphasis on their dessert station. (The French are after all famous for their French de patisserie. 🙂 ) We placed the dessert in the center of the room so that the guests had to sit around it and thus elevating it to a décor feature. Suspending two “lampshades” of floras and fairy lights enhanced the drama, we wanted to create around the table, even futher.

What a beautiful and happy wedding this was! Kate and Charles-Eric couldn’t stop smiling and looking at each other the whole day. Kate made such a elegant bride with her gorgeous low back dress and soft skin and, gosh, Charles-Eric was rather dashing in his blue suit.

Rockhaven, as usual, outdid itself as a venue. A gorgeous wedding for a lovely couple.
